The humiliation of love or sexual humiliation, we have not ceased to meet it: humiliation of the race of the adulterers, humiliation of the crazy one of love, humiliation of the one who accepts the dishonor for love, humiliation of the fool fooled by girls, of the impotent old man, of the ugliness that forbids to please, of the deceived lover, of the scorned husband, of the sodomite, of the violated woman. Humiliation of the stripped victim, so that any suffering and any outrage are for her the equivalent of a rape. All the paths of humiliation lead to sexual humiliation, unless they start from it. All humiliation is rape, the exposure and penetration of an intimacy that should be preserved. Why is this surprising? Humiliation is produced by the gaze of the other.

L’humiliation amoureuse ou sexuelle, nous n’avons pas cessé de la rencontrer: humiliation de la course des adultères, humiliation du fou d’amour, humiliation de celui qui accepte le déshonneur par amour, humiliation du benêt dupé par des filles, du vieillard impuissant, de la laideur qui interdit de plaire, de l’amoureux trompé, du mari bafoué, du sodomite, de la femme violée. Humiliation de victime dénudée, si bien que toute souffrance et tout outrage sont pour elle l’équivalent d’un viol. Tous les chemins de l’humiliation conduisent à l’humiliation sexuelle, à moins qu’ils n’en partent. Toute humiliation est un viol, l’exhibition et la pénétration d’une intimité qui devrait être préservée. Quoi d’étonnant ? L’humiliation est produite par le regard de l’autre.
